    Industry Spotlight Series: Entrepreneurship

Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 3:00 PM until 3:45 PMEastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00

Tune in to hear from two recent alums and the co-founders of Anomalie, Leslie Vorhees and Calley Means, talk about their HBS experience and the journey to start their company.

    Leslie Voorhees
and Calley Means are the co-founders of Anomalie, the only customizable, made-to-order bridal brand that helps all brides visualize and create their perfect dream dress to fit any size, style, and budget.

Leslie and Calley met at Harvard Business School (graduated 2015) and never expected to start a company together when they got engaged in 2016. After a frustrating wedding dress shopping experience, Leslie used her manufacturing expertise to make her dress directly with a top workshop. After dozens of friends asked Leslie to make a wedding dress for them, Leslie and Calley quit their jobs to start Anomalie.

Three years later, 15% of U.S. brides are using Anomalie to visualize their dream dresses. The company utilizes pioneering visualization and fit technology, combined with vertical integration to top factories, to make sure each gown matches the brides’ design vision and fit.

Anomalie has raised $18 million from consumer tech funds such as Goodwater, Lerer Hippeau, and Maveron. The company has offices in San Francisco, Scottsdale, and Hong Kong. Read more about Anomalie in TechCrunch, The New York Times, and Forbes.

Prior to founding Anomalie, Leslie managed international manufacturing engineering and supply chain operations at Nike and Apple. Calley previously worked for The White House, Edelman, and Zenefits.

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
