Industry Spotlight Series: From Automotive to HBS

Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 7:00 PM until 7:45 PMEastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00

Please join us for a virtual panel discussion highlighting Harvard Business School (HBS) students formerly working in the Automotive Industry. Hear what a day in the life of an HBS student is like, how they plan to utilize their MBA, and maybe even a little application advice! If you are considering, or curious about, an MBA and work (or have worked) in this industry, this is a great event for you.

This event is primarily Q&A based, so come with questions (or submit them ahead of time). We are excited to meet you!

Yaoxin graduated from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics with a B.E. in Automotive Engineering in 2012, and then obtained my M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Michigan in 2013. Before HBS, he worked at Cummins and Fiat Chrysler as an engineer and a program manager. Post-MBA, he will pursue entrepreneurship/tech to build cool products and awesome communities!

Prior to HBS, Rob worked for three years in various roles at Ford Motor Company including Ford Edge Brake Hardware Engineer, Ford Edge Manufacturing Launch Engineer, and Ford Performance Steering Engineer on the Shelby Mustang GT500 and GT350. Prior to his work at Ford, Rob received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and held internships at Ford, BMW Manufacturing, BMW M, and Tesla Motors. After HBS, Rob will be working at Boston Consulting Group in the Boston office.

Pre-HBS, Niharika was working for Jaguar Land Rover helping them develop their self-driving car. Prior to this role, she was working as a calibrations and controls engineer for engine management systems. She joined JLR straight out of University of Cambridge, UK where she received her Bachelors and Masters in Engineering. Post-MBA, she will be joining McKinsey as a generalist. She hopes this opportunity will enable her to experience various different industries as well as be close to automotive via the Centre of Future Mobility at McKinsey.
