Industry Spotlight Series: From Retail to HBS

Please join us for a virtual panel discussion highlighting Harvard Business School (HBS) students formerly working in the Retail Industry. Hear what a day in the life of an HBS student is like, how they plan to utilize their MBA, and maybe even a little application advice! If you are considering, or curious about, an MBA and work (or have worked) in this industry, this is a great event for you.

Kathu finished undergrad at Georgetown University. Pre-MBA she spent time in fixed income securitization and valuation then pivoted to retail (L Brands) specifically focusing on real estate finance. She will be interning at BCG (DC office) in the summer.




Sara graduated from Indiana University in 2012, with a major in Business and minor in History of Art. Prior to HBS, she spent 7 years in the retail industry as a buyer for West Elm and in buying and strategy roles at Bloomingdale’s. She interned for Sony Music’s Digital Strategy & Investments team over the summer, and is pursuing a career pivot into the media & entertainment industry after graduation.



My name is Sadib Abdullah, I am ethnically from Bangladesh but grew up in Papua New Guinea. I graduated Georgia Tech as an engineer and worked in consulting, startups, and retail. In terms of my retail experience, I worked at The Home Depot’s Corporate Strategy group prior to coming to HBS. Over the summer, I interned at a VC firm named Cue Ball and plan on working in startups post business school.
