Industry Spotlight Series: From Industrials to HBS

Please join us for a virtual panel discussion highlighting Harvard Business School (HBS) students formerly working in the Industrials Industry. Hear what a day in the life of an HBS student is like, how they plan to utilize their MBA, and maybe even a little application advice! If you are considering, or curious about, an MBA and work (or have worked) in this industry, this is a great event for you.

Hannah completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison (go Badgers!) where she double-majored in finance and marketing. Prior to HBS she worked in a variety of finance roles at 3M, most significantly in a plant controller positions for several Midwest manufacturing facilities. After graduating, Hannah plans to follow her newfound passion for the food industry to a role in CPG brand management.



Brittany is originally from Colorado and studied Chemical Engineering at Columbia University for undergrad. After graduating, she joined Emerson as part of their 2-year rotational Engineers in Leadership Program. After the program, she moved to Singapore to work as a control systems engineer and digital transformation sales manager. After HBS, Brittany is planning on going into consulting in Austin, TX.



Prior to HBS, Cathy worked for Caterpillar for three years in a Leadership and Operations Rotational Program and for two years as a Manufacturing Engineer. During her MBA, she has focused on future of work research and launched a labor marketplace for skilled workers. She plans to continue working on this startup idea post HBS.




Hi, I’m Varun! I studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. I worked at Cummins as a quality engineer in manufacturing. Post-MBA – In the near term, I am undecided at the moment. I would like to try doing something I wouldn’t have imagined doing. In the long term, I am interested in entrepreneurship.
