Doug is an EC MS/MBA candidate. Originally from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, he grew up in Houston, TX before studying mechanical engineering at Notre Dame (Go Irish!). Pre-HBS he worked in project management at ExxonMobil and is interning at Clean Energy Ventures, an early-stage climate tech venture capital fund, this summer. After HBS, he wants to work on climate technology ventures that can bring gigaton-scale greenhouse gas reductions to combat the climate crisis. Doug is excited to talk about all things HBS including the MS/MBA program, the Latino experience at HBS, non-traditional recruiting, and what it’s like to have a partner at HBS!Wale Lawal recently completed his RC year at HBS and currently interns at The Engine focused on investing in Tough tech ventures. Before HBS, he served in the Air Force for 9 years as a Materials Engineer Officer helping to drive the development and deployment of new technology for the DoD that ranged from advanced materials to autonomous flying vehicles. In addition to his primary career field he spent 2 years lecturing and conducting research as an Assistant Professor at the Air Force Academy in the Department of Chemistry. Wale completed his Bachelor of Science in Materials Science at the Air Force Academy, and was then selected to complete a Ph.D in Materials Science and NanoEngineering at Rice University. During his time at the Academy, he played Division 1 Football, and competed nationally as a collegiate heavyweight boxer. Wale has a lovely wife and two daughters that reside with him as he works to complete his MS/MBA. Bobby (MS/MBA 2021) is Head of the Supply Chain Studio at 25Madison. Before joining the team, Bobby was Director of Product at Flashpoint, a threat intelligence company and Venture Partner at First In Venture Capital, an early stage investing firm focused on data intelligence and cybersecurity. Bobby has built hardware and software solutions across government agencies, special operations military units, and commercial companies for fifteen years. As the Head of Product at Echosec Systems, he grew the product team from two to six people and scaled the business from $4.5mm ARR to $10.8mm resulting in its acquisition. At Apple Inc., he helped ramp and bring to market the in-house Silicon chips used in Apple devices as a Global Supply Manager. During his military career, Bobby was a Cryptologic Warfare Officer and led teams in combat zones with Naval Special Warfare and Joint Special Operations Command. Bobby is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He received his MBA at Harvard Business School and a Master in Engineering at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
